About SWA
Work. A matter of course for some, miles away for others. Specifically for people with a handicap, as limitations of a physical, mental or psychological nature, are often called. It has been like that since the old days. For that reason, initiatives arose to offer these people work. In 1969 a legal framework was created with the act on social employment provision, which gave the target group a right to work.
SWA exists since 1954 when the work was done in a few wooden sheds. Only 9 people were employed. That little group has, over the years, grown to a number of employees of over 500. This makes SWA to one of the larger employers in the Alphen aan den Rijn area.
Besides the act on social employment provision, there are various other regulations to help people on their way to a job. In this, SWA positions itself as a job company with all necessary facilities to realize that. However, the starting point remains the same: work is found for people instead of people for work.
Diverse, that captures SWA in one word. For there are as many wishes as there are people. For everyone, an effort is made to translate these wishes into a job. The various activities that are being undertaken are in the areas of production, assembly and service. For example, we produce the nationally well-known wire metal newspaper stands. But we also have activities like print work, electronic equipment modification and open space maintenance.
At SWA, we have great achievements every day. Our employees guarantee products and services of excellent quality. To be able to reach that, extra provisions and organizational and technical adaptations are made use of. SWA does everything to optimally serve you.
